Benitses

The picturesque fishing village of Benitses is 13 kilometres south of Corfu Town and despite the fact that it is a tourist resort, it is still a working fishing port and the streets of the old village have retained their traditional character. A new yachting marina has recently been completed which has added another dimension to the life of the village.

The shady tree-lined square has a variety of tavernas, In Benitses, one will find some taverns, cafés, bars and shops. On the pavement local fishermen set up stalls where they sell their daily catch. There is a sandy beach on the other side of the coast road.

The village is home to the Corfu Shell Museum which exhibits large collection of shells, coral, shark's jaws and various fascinating fishes from all over the world.

Could be combined with Boukari and Lefkimmi.
