Kanoni

The name Kanoni (cannon) is derived from the cannons that protected the city at the entrance of the lagoon, once the main port of the island. (You can still see the cannon.)

Just below Kanoni lies the Halikiopoulos Lagoon and the picture postcard view of Pontikonisi (Mouse Island) and the small church of Panagia Vlahernon.

Another thing that makes Kanoni unique is that it is located directly above the runway of Corfu Airport affording a close-up view of the planes landing and taking off just a few metres away.
